Pharmaceutical packaging facilities operate under stringent international regulatory frameworks, including WHO-GMP, US FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and European Annex 1 guidelines. Every piece of machinery in the packaging room—from infeed conveyors and vial cartoners to case packers—must adhere to strict sanitary design principles to prevent cross-contamination, microbial harborage, and particulate generation.
Core Principles of cGMP Machine Architecture
At OSTECH, we engineer machinery specifically for Grade C and Grade D cleanroom secondary packaging areas:
- Certified Stainless Steel Construction: All product contact parts are fabricated from SS316 stainless steel with electropolished surface roughness (Ra < 0.4 µm). Machine frames are built from corrosion-resistant SS304.
- Hollow Body & Horizontal Surface Elimination: Sloped surfaces prevent dust and moisture pooling. Structural tubes are seal-welded to eliminate crevices where bacteria could breed.
- Clean-in-Place (CIP) & Washdown Compatibility: Electrical enclosures meet IP65/IP66 washdown ratings with hygienic hygienic glands and stainless steel conduit routing.
- FDA-Approved Food-Grade Lubricants: All gearboxes and bearings utilize NSF H1 registered food-grade lubricants to eliminate contamination risk in the event of seal weepage.
- Comprehensive IQ/OQ Documentation: We supply complete Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) protocols, material test certificates (MTC), and calibration records for smooth regulatory validation.
